Other sites will often put your content behind Paywalls (Medium for example) or require login to view your articles.

If you write your content here, it is free to be viewed by anyone forever.

What if OpenJournal goes away?

OpenJournal, like all wikis allow anyone (including you, the reader) to take a dump of the entire database containing all articles.

Nothing here depends on this site staying up. Anyone is welcome to take a dump and immediately have a working copy of everything that was written here.
